When do kids get sick… nights and weekends, right? Good news for parents – a new healthcare offering brings pediatric care right where we want it – at home.

CareConnect provides live, on-demand, secure and HIPPAA compliant video visits. Our children can see a doctor 365 days a year using our desktop computer or mobile app on a phone.

We haven’t needed to use it yet, but I got prepared in advance by creating a user profile, downloading the required program, and giving it a test run. All set for our first bad tummy in the middle of a snowstorm!

The service is from the Nemours Pediatric Healthcare Foundation and is currently available in Florida, Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. You don’t need to be a current Nemours patient to enroll.

Check out your healthcare providers and see if house calls are making a comeback in your local area too. This is definitely technology I can get behind.
